Well...actually, I made these last year, so I decided to skip this week (sorry, Lisa of Surviving Oz - I love the new logo!). If you're interested in what I thought about them in May 2008, complete with terrible photo, here you go:
Tribute to Katharine Hepburn Brownies
I'll give you a hint. Despite my recent declaration of love for all things coffee, I thought the espresso was a bit much. But other than that, yum good.

As much as I love coffee too, I actually left it out of this batch. I don't blame you for not making them again, especially if you weren't crazy about them.
They look great - especially being over a year old! :)
I agree about the espresso - I cut it back to 1 tsp than 2 tsp. (knowing espresso might be stronger than instant coffee). But I'm glad you added it and enjoyed them. They're my new favorite brownie recipe!
I decided to cut the espresso to 1 tbsp as I don't love coffee-flavoured brownies. Halving the ammount works perfect: these are delish!
I cut down the coffee in mine after having a similar "holy coffee Batman!" experience with Ina Garten's outrageous brownies. Yours look great!
See you next week!
For year old brownies, those look really good. HeehEE!!
