TWD: Chocolate Oatmeal Drops

I made my Chocolate Oatmeal Drops on the tail end of a Dorie baking binge last week - I had just taken the Orange-Hazelnut Tart out of the oven, and I thought, "Well, as long as I have the oven on..." In the blink of an eye, chocolate was melted (microwave, thankyouverymuch), dry ingredients whisked, and cookie dough plopped on cookie sheet.

Are they beautiful? Well, yes, they are, once you know what's in them. Chocolate and oatmeal together (with a nice dash of cinnamon) make me very happy. Who knew? This is what breakfast oatmeal should taste like, if you ask me. The cooled cookies went directly into the freezer, where they will lie in wait for one of my "don't I have a chocolate cookie somewhere in the house?" frenzies.

  3. I do the same thing when my oven is on sometimes :) Your cookies look perfect! I had high hopes for these but I didn't end up loving the flavor combo.
