Recently, the folks at MyBlogSpark asked me if I would try out some new and improved diapers from Seventh Generation.
While this subject is not necessarily germane to my normal blogging
topics (butter, sugar, flour), I know that many of my readers are
parents of young children (or will be soon), so I thought, why not? Plus,
if you leave a comment below, you'll be entered for a chance to win
your own diaper prize pack in the size of your choice. Free diapers?
Score!
Over the past six-plus years of raising two kids, I've
changed a lot of diapers. I'm still changing diapers. I hope that within
the next few months, my son will potty-train and I will no longer be
changing diapers. I have investigated cloth diapering on several
occasions, but for various reasons decided that it wasn't the right
choice for our family (although I would certainly recommend looking into
cloth diapering options if you are starting out with your first baby -
there are so many more options and services than there were just six
years ago). But for the most part I've stuck with traditional disposables. Sorry, Mother Earth.
I was interested in trying the Seventh Generation Free & Clear Diapers
for a couple of reasons - one, my two-year-old son has eczema and
generally sensitive skin, and two, why not put a little less chlorine
bleach into the environment? Though I try to find environmentally
friendly alternatives in most areas of my home - cleaning products,
food, and the like - here is one area in which I've dropped a big, fat
ball. I try to keep all synthetic fragrances and chemicals away from my
kids' skin, but I've been using bleached disposable diapers all this
time. The Seventh Generation
diapers are free of chlorine processing, fragrances, latex, and
petroleum-based lotions, and according to their website, contain a
"redesigned core that is more efficient at absorption and uses less
processed chlorine free wood pulp." Sounds good to me.
But how well do they work? Well, we're on day four of using the
diapers, and we've had nary a leak or complaint from my two-year-old.
From an aesthetic perspective, they are a refreshing change from the
cartoon character-festooned diapers I'm used to - simple, pale-tan
colored, with nice, wide tabs that keep the diapers very secure. I'm
very happy with the diapers and would definitely recommend them if
you're going the disposable diaper route, or if you need the occasional
disposable to supplement your cloth diaper stash. You can click here for a $2.00 coupon to try the Seventh Generation Free & Clear Diapers for yourself, or leave me a comment below - any comment! - and I'll randomly select a winner to receive a free Seventh Generation Free & Clear Diapers sample pack in the size of your choice.
The coupon link, product, prize pack,
information, and giveaway have all been provided by Seventh Generation

ReplyDeleteHi Jessica ! Hope you are keeping cool in this crazy hot weather we have been having. We have been doing nothing but running around and I am barely keeping up with FF's :) You had given me the heads up about the new bakery in Phxville and I heard it opened. Soltane ? Have you tried it ? We are doing Atkins to combat FF's but I plan to get over there at some point. Stay cool- fall is coming soon enough~ Tricia
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty huggies loyal but have been hoping to try these. I always wonder, why do they have to make diapers so crazy looking? Plain white please!
